British executive takes over Presidency at US public quoted company


Chordiant Software Inc, a leading provider of e-business infrastructure
software for customer interaction (Nasdaq: CHRD), today announced the
appointment of Stephen Kelly as new President and Chief Operating Officer
for Chordiant worldwide. Kelly joined the company three years ago as Vice
President Europe in order to set up the International business, which
under his leadership has grown to earn 70% of Chordiant's worldwide
revenue. Chordiant is now the fastest-growing multichannel CRM company in
Europe, according to analysts Hewson Group.

Stephen Kelly will be responsible for all operational aspects of the
company, including field operations, consulting functions, alliances,
product development and engineering. The role is newly-created for Kelly
and follows a re-organisation of the company to enable even greater focus
on customers, the market, and faster speed of execution. The position of
President was previously held by Chordiant CEO and chairman Sam Spadafora.

In his new role, Stephen Kelly will be responsible for all customer
initiatives, with the task of focussing all new technology development on
customers' priorities. He will also lead a worldwide internal
communication programme for employees following the success of his
internal leadership in the International office. Staff turnover has been
less than 1% per annum since the European subsidiary was set up in
November 1997.

Stephen Kelly, (39), was promoted to Head of Operations Worldwide earlier
this year. He now joins the board as President, reporting directly to Sam
Spadafora.

Kelly was previously at Oracle Corporation for 10 years. He held various
senior European Director and General Management positions in Financial
Services, Telecommunications, Consumer Packaged Goods, Alliances, and
Public Sector. He also created the Government Sales Group from start-up.
Shortly after joining the company, he was nominated Salesman of the Year
for 1988. Prior to joining Oracle, he worked at ICL as Sales Manager for
its Public Sector Group for three years.

He has a BSc Honours degree in Business Administration from Bath
University.
