The Christmas rush has begun early online says - after registering over six million hits in just one day!

And chief executive, Steve Bennett, is convinced it’s a sign that consumer confidence in online shopping has finally turned the corner, at what is the busiest and most demanding time of the year.

He said: "Exceeding the six million mark is a real watershed for and the fact that we first achieved it in the middle of October, speaks volumes for both the future of e-retailing and the quality of our product offer.

"Since the turn of the year, the number of people in the UK making purchases via the Internet has more than doubled, and a quarter of them can now be classed as multiple purchasers. We’re not that far off from nearly 10% of total UK retail sales being online."

Bennett is also convinced that the best patrons of online retailers are those who expect the most in terms of customer service.

He added: "A weak, unclear buying process remains the biggest obstacle to online shopping adoption. At we have retained our high tech roots but also encompassed the mainstream audience - with our option of on-the-phone ordering and advice a big competitive advantage."
