New Compaq EMEA Wireless Center demonstrates real time wireless application
access using Citrix® MetaFrame(tm)

Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTXS) today announced its support for Compaq's
new EMEA Wireless Center in Stockholm. Citrix is providing its industry
leading experience in application server technology to enable the wireless
deployment of mission critical applications, including Siebel, MS Office and
Internet Explorer, using Citrix MetaFrame's bandwidth efficient Independent
Computing Architecture (ICA®) protocol.

The new Compaq EMEA Wireless Center, unveiled on 27 November 2000, has been
established to showcase leading edge end-to-end mobile Internet solutions
for corporate customers from EMEA and help them realize business benefits by
adopting wireless technology. Supported by leading industry vendors from the
telecommunication and IT industry the Center provides partners and
enterprise customers with a testing and knowledge exchange environment for
wireless and mobile Internet implementations.

"There is no dispute that users are increasingly demanding secure access to
mission-critical applications when on the move, whether it be from a mobile
phone, PDA or laptop," said Keith Turnbull, Vice President, product
development at Citrix Systems, Inc. "Citrix is therefore delighted to
support this initiative from Compaq which will help bring wireless
connectivity to the modern enterprise and drive the development and adoption
of mobile computing solutions."

"The Compaq EMEA Wireless Center is all about working with key partners to
offer mobile Internet end-to-end solutions to help customers get the
business benefits of adopting wireless technology," said Christer Erlandson,
Director EMEA Wireless Center. "A natural first step for many customers is
to extend the reach of mission-critical applications to an anytime, anywhere
platform like the Compaq iPAQ Pocket PC. We are very happy to partner with
Citrix in offering this exciting functionality"

At the official inauguration of the Wireless Center, Compaq will demonstrate
how users of the new Compaq iPAQ Pocket PC handheld device can securely
access Windows®, UNIX® and Java(tm) applications, including personal
productivity software and line of business ERP and CRM solutions, via
Citrix, without the need for rewriting the software. For more information on

About Citrix ICA

With more than 24 million users worldwide and 6 million concurrent user
licenses since its introduction in 1995, the Citrix® Independent Computing
Architecture (ICA®) is an emerging industry standard for server-based
computing. Citrix' ICA technology includes a server software component, a
network protocol component, and a client software component. On the server,
ICA separates application logic from the user interface and executes 100% of
the application on the server. The ICA network protocol transports
keystrokes, mouse clicks and screen updates over standard protocols to the
client, consuming less than 20 kilobits-per-second of network bandwidth. On
the client, users see and work only with the application's interface.
