Jetstream Communications, the leader in Voice over Broadband solutions, announced today that in a report by market research firm Synergy Research Group, Jetstream attained the number one position in the VoDSL market in the third quarter of 2000. The report, entitled "Third Quarter Broadband Access and Infrastructure Equipment" was released this week, and shows Jetstream with 32.6% of "Worldwide Carrier Class VoDSL Gateway Revenue." According to Synergy, Jetstream has leadership positions in VoDSL gateway port shipment, VoDSL gateway revenue and VoDSL gateway unit sales - the three major categories that Synergy employs to measure the marketplace. Jetstream has also increased its market share in all three categories from Q2 2000.

"Jetstream provides the means for aggressive carriers and CLECs to enter new markets quickly and provide bundled communications services such as local phone service, long distance, and high-speed Internet access," said Jeremy Duke, President of Synergy Research Group. "While the Voice over Broadband Gateway market is just emerging, Jetstream has shown consistent quarter-to-quarter sales growth and has been increasing their market share position for Carrier Class Voice over DSL Gateway sales resulting in gaining a number one position for the last two quarters."

The Synergy report examined shipments of VoDSL gateways, such as Jetstream’s Carrier Class CPX-1000 broadband service delivery platform. Over 20 competitive local exchange carriers (CLECs) and integrated communications providers (ICPs) are rolling out service based on the CPX-1000, as well as Jetstream’s Jetvision management software and Integrated Access Devices (IADs) for deployment in their networks. In addition, Jetstream has also recently launched the Formation initiative to lead carriers through all phases of the service lifecycle.

"This research, performed by a leading third party firm, provides a legitimate, unbiased view of the VoDSL market, and we are very pleased to be ranked as the leader two quarters in a row," said S. ‘Sundi’ Sundaresh, President and CEO of Jetstream Communications. "Both our number one position in the VoDSL market and continued momentum reflect our ability to understand the needs of our customers and provide them with the comprehensive solutions they need to maximise their business."
