iOra builds new strategic sales team to drive market domination for
iOra Mobile Intranet
December 5th 2000, Basingstoke, UK - iOra (www.iora.com), supplier of eSolutions for Mobile Professionals has made five major new appointments to build a strong sales team taking the total number of people in sales and marketing to seven.
Will Scott has been appointed as UK Channel Manager, and will be concentrating on developing partner relationships, including ISVs, strategic partners, resellers, and OEMs. Will commented, "iOra offers great opportunities and potential - moving into a company with a leading edge product in a market that no-one has really successfully addressed yet, and from a career point of view, joining a small start-up operation is very exciting." Will joined iOra from Hummingbird Communications where he managed the Business Partner programme for Business Intelligence & Data Migration product lines.
Andy Johnson has been appointed Sales Manager of Direct Sales for the UK. Andy has an impressive track record in sales over the last 15 years. His previous position was as Client Director with Symbol Technologies. Andy commented, "I joined iOra because the company is just entering a period of dynamic growth with a great product. I am looking forward to the challenge of ensuring that iOra Mobile Intranet takes a dominant market share."
David Richmond also joins from Symbol Technologies as Senior Product Consultant. David will be working with partners and corporate customers to ensure iOra’s products achieve optimum performance within the overall solution. On joining iOra David commented, "Having worked at Symbol for six years and seen the company grow, the challenge of new but related technology within a smaller, dynamic company environment was just too good to resist."
Matthew Whitehouse joins iOra as office-based Internal Sales. "I will be supporting sales and marketing, by generating and qualifying leads via the telephone." Matthew previously worked for Goldmine where he was an account manager and before that at Software Warehouse now known as Jungle.com. "I really liked what the product could do for people that have to work away from the office but still rely on having access to up-to-date business information," explained Matthew.
Roger Puttick, Sales & Marketing director, appointed in April to build and implement the overall strategy for iOra said, "It was important to get the right people in the team. We wanted dynamic, experienced individuals that could work together as a team to deliver a total greater than the sum of the parts. We will be concentrating on developing sales via the channel as well as a direct sales team." Before joining iOra, Roger was Director of Worldwide Marketing and EMEA Sales at Beyond Software Inc. Roger previously held Senior Sales and Sales Management positions at Sybase and Ingres. In these roles, Roger's responsibilities included managing both direct and indirect sales channels throughout EMEA, and developing and managing partner strategy.
