Cartoonscape - the world’s first WAP cartoon and comic WAPsite.

"see how the boundaries of WAP have been stretched in a way that its designers probably never thought of."

Review of Cartoonscape WAP site
December 2000 Issue - WAP Magazine

5th December 2000, Sheffield.

On October 1st, Cool Beans Productions launched what is widely believed to be the world’s first ever cartoon and comic strip site for mobile phones.

The brainchild of Cool Beans Operations Director Matt Percival, who is also a professional cartoonist, the site was conceived to push current WAP technology to its graphical limits by providing entertaining content for people on the move.

All content is created specifically for the site and contains gag cartoons, a wap comic strip called Charlesworth and the first ever character created exclusively for WAP - Super WapMan who appears in a prologue ‘WAPisode’ ahead of full launch early next year.

Matt Percival, creator and founder of enthused "The content we have created is 100% original and entertaining - we all need to shut off from the stresses of everyday life and there’s no better way than having a good laugh." He continued, "On a serious note, this is a business. We have begun to supply original cartoons as web content for an advertising agency in the US and plan to expand this area of our business. We are able to tailor and turnaround both Web and Wap content to each client’s specific needs - whatever the language, product or service - giving them unique content aimed specifically at their customer’s."

Interest in the site has been significant simply because there is nothing else around quite like it.

More features and content will be added in the weeks and months ahead to ensure the site stays fresh and funny.

Cartoonscape is also looking to partner with a major mobile communications player to help distribute and exploit the commercial potential of its content and characters - especially Super WapMan.
