People Vision launch new bite sized training sessions to empower line managers

London, 11th March 2008 - Human Resources Consultancy, People Vision has launched ‘HR Essentials,’ the ultimate programme for Non HR Managers to get to grips with the HR issues that keep them awake at night. With convenient modules, HR Essentials provides line managers with the knowledge to efficiently manage key HR issues such as coaching, appraisals, interviewing, managing disciplinary and grievances.

Alyson Pellowe, Managing Director of People Vision, explained the thinking behind the sessions: "I kept getting requests from clients to develop line management training in the HR arena. I believe this is down to increased pressure on line managers to do their day jobs, and drive up the performance of their teams - often with a reduced headcount but no reduction in their business objectives.”

With applications to Employment Tribunals on the increase, line managers are showing the strains of so many conflicting demands, pushes, pulls and deadlines. Increasingly, organisations expect their line managers to carry out activities that were traditionally the remit of the personnel department.

As line managers now play a pivotal role in implementing and enacting HR policies and processes, organisations are very keen for line managers to develop their HR skills so that productivity is not affected and potentially damaging complaints are avoided.

HR Essentials is designed with a busy line manager’s diary in mind. It consists of 12 modules, each 3 hours long.
