Atia Communications are truly excited about the forthcoming 2010 Formula One season and feel privileged to be working with a team so rich in motorsport heritage. Anticipating a great Formula One season, Patrick Copping, Commercial Director at Atia said ‘it’s F1 fever across all our sites and many within our team are massive fans of the sport. The customer requirements are relatively complicated and the unique situation does pose several interesting challenges. The operations will be 24/7 and will cross several time zones as the championship unfolds. However, Atia Communications are well used to dealing with complex customer scenarios and our team have built a bespoke system which is able to cope with all the demanding telecommunications requirements of a customer such as Lotus Racing’.
Stephen Corrigan, UK Managing Director at 3CX commented. ‘Atia Communications were chosen to deploy the 3CX system at Lotus Racing largely down to their extensive knowledge of the 3CX product and their proven track record in the delivery of multi site IP Telephony installations. The project was rolled out in a matter of weeks, with Atia managing the entire deployment. The Lotus Racing team are delighted with the outcome and are expecting to see significant growth in the system.’

The 3CX system was a natural choice for the Lotus Racing Team, the expected benefits include;

• Significant reduction in mobile call costs. It is expected that a large proportion of international voice traffic will be sent over intercompany VoIP circuits, significantly reducing the need for mobile communications.
• A ‘company wide’, universal telephony platform that will deliver voice services and voice applications to the entire Lotus F1 Racing team, regardless of location and function.
• Advanced functionality such as call recording, conferencing, unified communications and integration, all out of the box.

The Lotus F1 Racing team have announced the drivers for the 2010 season and Italy’s Jarno Trulli, Finland’s Heikki Kovalainen and Malaysia’s Fairuz Fauzy have joined the team to spearhead driving duties for its debut Formula 1 season in 2010.
