BIOS IT enables composable infrastructure with vScaler and GigaIO.
For the first time, users have a unified, software-defined, composable infrastructure that dynamically provisions any physical hardware resource
November 14, 2019, London. Global HPC integration experts BIOS IT have teamed up with GigaIO and vScaler to enable a truly composable infrastructure platform, powered by the latest enterprise hardware technology, high-performance fabric and Cloud orchestration.
Composable Infrastructure is an emerging category of infrastructure solutions that utilise high-bandwidth, low-latency interconnects to aggregate compute, storage and networking fabric resources into shared resource pools that can be available for on-demand allocation. Disaggregation and composability enable organisations to meet the demands of new data-intensive applications and dynamically assign resources to match changing workloads.
With BIOS IT’s composable infrastructure platform, compute, networking, storage, GPU (or FPGA) and Intel® Optane™ memory devices are interconnected over GigaIO’s high-performance fabric (FabreX™). The GIgaIO composable solution range can unite a vast variety of resources, connecting GPUs, TPUs, FPGAs and SoCs to other compute elements or PCI endpoint devices, such as NVMe, PCIe native storage, and other I/O resources. Span multiple servers and multiple racks to scale up single-host systems and scale-out multi-host systems, all unified via the GigaIO FabreX Switch.
This new architecture enables a hyper-performance network with a unified, software-defined, composable infrastructure which is orchestrated by the vScaler Management Interface. With vScaler’s on-demand management interface, you can dynamically provision physical servers on-demand from pools of bare-metal resources, right-sized for your requirements and featuring application-specific software stacks, all orchestrated by an easy-to-use management interface.
Ian Mellett, BIOS IT GM comments “GigaIO’s technology ensures that BIOS IT can deliver the best in network performance, flexibility and efficiency to its HPC, FinTech and Cloud customers. We recognise the benefits that composability affords our end users, including lower CapEx and OpEx through less hardware, higher utilisation of resources and less power consumption”.
“The combination of BIOS IT’s HPC expertise, vScaler's Cloud platform and our game-changing FabreX deliver best-in-class hyper-performance networking, rich functionality and ease of use,” said Marc Lehrer, GigaIO’s Vice President Worldwide Sales. “For the first time, users have a unified, software-defined, composable infrastructure that dynamically provisions any physical hardware resource on demand to meet the user requirements. Thus increasing utilizing and driving down expenses.”
BIOS IT will showcase the new solution at SC19 on booth #513. To arrange a meeting at the event, or for further information, contact BIOS IT.
