Xircom Expands Wireless Portfolio With Debut of GPRS PC Card

Xircom’s CreditCardTM GPRS Wireless Modem Provides “Always On” Access to
Corporate Networks and the Internet

London, 21st February 2001 - At the 3GSM World Congress today, Xircom,
(Nasdaq: XIRC), the leading provider of mobile information access
introduced its CreditCardTM GPRS solution, a Type II PC card that provides
wireless wide-area network (WWAN) connectivity for notebook PC users.
Xircom’s new CreditCard GPRS solution will provide true mobility for notebook PC
users with “always on” wireless Internet and corporate network access from
virtually any location at speeds rivalling today’s analog modems.

“For the first time, anytime, anywhere wireless access for notebook users
can be as simple as inserting a PC card into a laptop,” said Peter

GPRS solution will have a dramatic impact on the way mobile professionals

Using Xircom’s CreditCard GPRS solution, notebook users will be able to
recreate their office environment at the airport, a hotel or anywhere

Availability and Pricing

Xircom will debut the CreditCard GPRS solution at GSM World Congress in
Cannes, France, February 20-22, 2001 in booth C16. The CreditCard GPRS
solution will be available in the third quarter of 2001 and is expected to
have a suggested retail price of approximately £312.
