With just a week to go until The Bushcraft Show 2014, tickets are selling fast, especially with the new announcement that Steve Backshall, Deadly 60 Presenter is coming to The Bushcraft Show. Being one of the busiest presenters on television, the show organisers were thrilled to confirm his visit to the show once he was cleared of filming commitments. This Adventurer, Explorer, Author and Award Winning TV Presenter, best known for his popular Deadly 60 series will be on the main stage on Saturday 24th May at 3pm.
Steve Backshall will be speaking on the main stage about his expeditions to the world's wildest places, in search of dazzling natural spectacles. “Having travelled to the far corners of the world, I am extremely excited about journeying to wild Derbyshire and the Bushcraft Show, to share my adventures,” says Steve Backshall. “I’ve spent most of my adult life on expeditions, with months in tropical rainforest sheltered beneath leaky tarpaulin, climbing to the roof of the world in the high Himalayas, and living in every wild environment from the Arctic to the Antarctic. I’m no bushcraft expert, but can chat for Britain about wildlife, and the wild places of the world!"
There is also the chance in a lifetime experience to sit with Steve Backshall in a small group of 25 people on a ticket only basis as he shares his personal account of how his career all began. You can attend this intimate experience ensuring that you get to ask Steve your question, you will receive a signed copy of Steve’s Book and have the opportunity to have your photograph taken with him. Fifty percent of all profits from ticket sales will be donated to a Massai village in the Rift Valley, Kenya assisting with the provision of a school and educational supplies amongst other things. At the show you can meet a group of Massai dancers who will be dancing, sharing their culture and demonstrating their bead working skills.
The Bushcraft Show is set to entertain families and individuals of all ages in a celebration of all things bushcraft and outdoors over the May Bank Holiday weekend and Steve Backshall’s visit to The Bushcraft Show is hoped to further encourage children to explore the world outside their technological devices, showing them that the great outdoors can really be a wonderful playground for games and social activities.
You can hold the world’s most extreme animals in your hands, cuddle a cockroach, snuggle up to a snake and tame a tarantula, there’s Open Canoeing, Archery, Axe Throwing, Campfire Cookery, Tracking, Firelighting, Birds of Prey and Storytelling.
