A winning co-location formula for Call Centre Expo and Customer: Strategy & Management

The co-location of Call Centre Expo and Customer: Strategy & Management at the NEC Birmingham, 26-27 September 2007 proved to be a huge success with both exhibitors and visitors alike benefiting from the new format and re-energised content. The event attracted a 14% increase in visitors compared with last year’s Call Centre Expo with an attendance of 5,530* over the two day event. The re-launched CCF Conference also increased the number of high-level delegates by a massive 59%. Plus, following the successful launch of the Power 100 in 2006 this year’s sessions welcomed 84 members to the two sessions taking place alongside the event.

“We are thrilled with the success of the show this year, the co-location has been a major step for both Call Centre Expo and Customer: Strategy & Management offering both extra educational features and more value to the visitors and exhibitors.” comments Simon Mills, Event Director and continues “With unprecedented rebookings we look forward to next year where we plan an even more integrated show capitalising on the winning aspects from 2007.”

The visitor demographics for Call Centre Expo and its co-locating show Customer: Strategy & Management confirms the value for visitors with 66% from senior management taking a day out of the office to attend the event an increase from last year. Over 63% of visitors were specifically looking to buy stating their visit was to purchase, implement or upgrade which was good news for exhibitors. Again, the show attracted attendees from a range of industry sectors through its doors including public sector, financial services, utilities, travel and retail.

Visitors to the event were also delighted with the co-location, acknowledging that you could get more from one day from the two events taking place together. As Ian Evans, Managing Director at Supplier Solutions UK explains, “The co-location has been especially worthwhile – it has been fantastic to see, all in one place, the new products and services now available.” It also gave visitors the option of meeting extra exhibitors who offered relevant products, Paul Beckett, Capacity Planning Manager at Norwich Union comments, “The exhibition was great – I am very interested in work force management and I have been able to look at several relevant company stands today.”

The CCF Conference and Customer Conference were running alongside the exhibition providing a pick and mix schedule which attracted a record number of delegates with over 450 attending. With sessions on Customer Focused Values, Employee Behaviour & Customer Experience and Measuring People Performance being a few of the sessions in high demand. Chris Leigh, Manager of Customer Service at HBOS said of the sessions he attended, “Highly worthwhile sessions. A great day out of the office with a good range of conference sessions and good quality speakers.”

85% of stand space was rebooked for 2008; the highest in four years. Rachel Tait, Regional Marcomms Manager at Graham Technology comments, “Once again CMP have pulled off a great show. Constant traffic, good calibre of visitor and a thoroughly profitable two days – one of our most valuable events in the calendar.” Another exhibitor who has rebooked for next year is New Voice Media, Jonathan Grant, CEO said, "We have doubled our stand size for 2008. We've met new clients and existing clients, the business has been fantastic – CMP have moved mountains to create such a great show and we look forward to next year!"

Those exhibitors rebooked for 2008 can expect to see an exciting change next year following the positive response to the co-location. CMP Information will provide an even more integrated event with an even greater range of end-to-end contact centre and customer management solutions. Call Centre Expo incorporating The Customer Management Experience will take place 16th & 17th September 2008, NEC, Birmingham, Hall 9.

The CCF European Call Centre Awards again took place on the first night of the two day event. The glamorous awards ceremony was held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole attracting the call centre community from across the globe and celebrating the fantastic work happening in call centres over the past year.
