A new behaviour management aid for primary school teachers

Toolkit - Front Page

London, United Kingdom, 24 October 2008. Wizard Publishing is pleased to announce the publication of the Behaviour Management Toolkit for primary teachers.

Written as a reaction to a teacher asking ‘How do I get my class to be quiet?’; the initial response given - ‘Go away and think about it’ was inadequate and so the Toolkit began as Post-Its, scribbles, notes and jottings which linked and grew to become a practical flowchart which provides a clear ‘route map’, showing the most important methods to attain a successful, well-managed classroom.

The Toolkit is a flowchart to help any teacher to:

- Manage the classroom effectively
- See the next steps for improving behaviour within the class
- Have a reminder of the dos and don’ts of teaching primary school children
- Ask questions about their own practice

About the author:

Alex Moir has been a Primary School teacher for ten years, and has been a Deputy Headteacher for the past five years. Previously he worked as a one to one helper for children with disabilities and learning difficulties. During his time in education he has worked with children with a variety of specific needs and with extremely challenging behaviour.

Alex comments: “The ‘Behaviour Management Toolkit’ is a first stop for all teachers who may not know what to try next with a group of challenging children or a class who aren’t firing on all cylinders. It is also a great starting place for a new class”.

The readership:

Aimed initially at the Newly Qualified Teacher in their first few terms, the Toolkit is also of great value to Established Teachers who need to go back to basics from time to time. It is equally useful in the Teacher Training Environment as part of the course material or to Teacher Mentors working in schools and LEA’s in support of new teachers.

The Toolkit is realistically priced at £3 per copy and can be ordered by telephone, e-mail or online at Free sample copies are available for journalists.
