SPEDIAN ANNOUNCES LICENCE AGREEMENT WITH MODAGRAFICS

Spedian's CEO Lawrence Craig

The deal with Modagrafics is set to be a major milestone in Spedian’s history as it enables us to create a presence in the US

Expanding operations into the United States will accelerate growth

Lightweight reusable vehicle graphics specialists Spedian™ is extending its offering into the United States following the signing of an exclusive licensing deal with US-based Modagrafics, the fleet services graphics provider.

The vehicle graphics market in the US is valued at £3 billion and the deal is a significant step forward for Spedian and one which will see the company, which has enjoyed considerable success in the UK municipal market, move into the commercial marketplace.

Based in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, Modagrafics can count household names such as McDonald’s, Caterpillar, BP, Nissan, Mars and the producers of Millers beer, Millercoors, among its customers and is one of the leading providers of fleet graphic branding.

Under the terms of the deal Modagrafics, will serve as the North American representative for the Spedian™ Vehicle Graphics System, which is patented in both the UK and the United States providing its customers with the unique features of the Spedian™ system.

The Spedian™ graphic system can be applied or removed in less than an hour and requires no bolts, rivets, screws, pins or rails to attach it to a vehicle. Graphics can be removed without damaging the vehicle then stored for later re-use.

Not only does this represent tremendous cost savings in terms of installation, the typical $3,000 cost of decommissioning a vehicle at the end of its life cycle is eradicated making it a compelling proposition for any operator.
Unlike adhesive vinyl, the system does not leave any ‘ghost images’ or sticky residues behind and graphics can be re-used, making the system especially suited to seasonal and frequently-changed promotional campaigns.
Lawrence Craig, CEO of Spedian, said: “The deal with Modagrafics is set to be a major milestone in Spedian’s history as it enables us to create a presence in the US as well as provides us with the opportunity to replicate what we do in the US elsewhere in Europe.

“They are an excellent fit with our own organisation and we are delighted to have reached this exclusive agreement with what is one of the most successful companies in vehicle graphics solutions in the United States, renowned for its excellent service and high quality graphics.
“We look forward to having a long and productive partnership with Modagrafic over the coming years.”
Paul Pirkle, President and CEO of Modagrafics, said: “We are very excited about their agreement and our association with Spedian for the most advanced, reusable vehicle graphic system on the market.
“Fleet owners and marketers are always searching for a cost-efficient solution that will help their brand get an edge, especially those who rely on frequent seasonal promotions and heavy consumer advertising rotations.
“Applying graphics is a very labour-intensive job that is magnified by the number of trucks in a given fleet. The Spedian system makes changeable graphics a much easier decision for our customers. Whether a graphic is short-term, stable or temporary, Modagrafics can provide an optimal solution for permanent film graphics, a removable panel or a hybrid. It’s a great fit with our overall solutions portfolio.”

Applying Spedian™ graphics is quick, clean, efficient and professional, taking less than an hour to complete. Once applied, installers apply the Spedian Exhaust System™ to ensure there is no panel movement during the vehicle’s operation.

The system has undergone extensive testing at HORIBA MIRA motor industry research centre in the UK, which it passed with flying colours, and is the only frame system certified by the American Transportation Research Institute in the United States.

Founded in 1973, Modagrafics provides fleets with the latest technology, design services, materials, printing and logistics for vehicle branding. It has a national installation network and works with clients to integrate brand marketing with fleet branding at local, regional and national levels.
