CitySocialising poll names Chris Moyles as The DJ Britons would least like to take on a night out

Chris Moyles may be the self proclaimed saviour of Radio One and although Britain loves to listen to his banter from the comfort of their homes it’s a different story when it comes to socialising with him in person.

A new survey* by CitySocialising the Social networking site that bridges the gap between online and offline networking and the place to meet new people, found that 29% of respondents named Moyles as the radio DJ they would least like to take on a night out with friends.

The survey asked respondents to name the DJs they think would be the most irritating on a night out and who they would least like to socialise with. Chris Evans also proved an unpopular choice and with 18% of the vote it looks like he’ll find it hard to meet new friends. He was closely followed by the hip hop DJ Westwood and with Fearne Cotton also making the top 5 it seems the Radio One Christmas party would be the last gathering you’d want in your social calendar.

The full top 10 countdown of DJs people would least like to socialise with:

1. Chris Moyles
2. Chris Evans
3. Westwood
4. Fearne Cotton
5. Sara Cox
6. Vernon Kay
7. Lisa Snowdon
8. Frank Skinner
9. Edith Bowman
10. Jo Wiley

It wasn’t all bad for Moyles though - amongst women he proved to be a very popular choice with 22% saying they would like to spend the night with him. Johnny Vaughan and Zane Lowe were also popular choices amongst the ladies with both receiving 12% of the vote. Frank Skinner was the favourite choice amongst men with 19% picking him as their male companion of choice and unsurprisingly Lisa Snowdon was also a popular choice with 12% of men’s votes.

Sanchita Saha CEO and founder of CitySocialising commented:

“CitySocialising is the place outgoing urbanites go to meet people in their area. We’re all about enjoying all your city has to offer with a new social crowd in our trademark laidback style. Presumably the DJs that made the top ten are the ones our members love to listen to but feel may be a bit too high maintenance on a night out with friends.”

The survey comes as CitySocialising launch their ‘Face of Socialising’ competition. The site is encouraging members to send in photos of themselves and their new friends out and about enjoying their city in order to win the chance of becoming the face of CitySocialising, appearing on their homepage and winning a year’s premium subscription to the website.
