After being appointed training partners by global body, the Internet of Things Security Foundation, IoT security experts at Copper Horse Solutions will lead the drive to give companies the skills they need to create secure IoT products.
The provision of training is part of the Foundation’s mission to ‘make it safe to connect’, through education, best practice and by driving the quality and ubiquity of IoT security solutions.
The comprehensive course is aimed at managers and developers of IoT products and service solutions. It runs over 2 days and covers 8 major themes, including working effectively with security research community. It also gives attendees the opportunity to hack into IoT devices themselves to enable an understanding of exactly how products are broken.
Copper Horse CEO David Rogers said
“Too much emphasis is placed on cracking products after the fact and showboating about how bad IoT security is, without actually improving the situation. Good security starts with defensive design. Training is a fundamental element of creating Internet of Things products and services which are secure by default. We’re very pleased to have been selected to provide the first course and we hope to equip attendees with the tools they need to build a robust and resilient future.”
John Moor, Managing Director IoT Security Foundation said
“We’re delighted to be working with Copper Horse as our first training partner. Driving the quality and ubiquity of security solutions in IoT means that we need to go beyond raising awareness and providing guidance materials. Training provision is an important element of the next phase of our mission to make it safe to connect in the era of IoT. Copper Horse brings proven experience as trainers and security experts, and together we aim to educate developers in the evolving art of IoT security”
The first course will take place on the 4th and 5th of July in the UK at Windsor’s Macdonald Hotel. More information can be found at Copper Horse Training and IoT Security Foundation Training.
