Emerging Opportunity to Get Your Face into Space (well, nearly)

Energy drink Emerge has unveiled a brand new and out of this world opportunity for budding astronauts to enter the stratosphere with the launch of the Emerge Space Programme.

Space cadets, cowboys and generally anyone clueless about intergalactic travel can now stand a chance of getting their face in space thanks to the brand’s ambitious project to deliver a unique, gravity-defying experience for one lucky member of the public.

Don’t speak Russian? No problem, you won’t need any of NASA’s strict requirements of body and mind to stand a chance of being the chosen one on this occasion. The person selected for this important mission will be provided with the opportunity to enter the stratosphere attached to a high altitude weather balloon. Emerge’s innovative approach to hassle free space travel, however, will see the winner keep both feet firmly on the ground and a 3D model of their image sent instead.

Calli O’Brien, Brand Manager at Emerge, said:
“This really is an out of this world opportunity to send your face into space. We might not be able to take your whole body there, but in a ‘selfie’ society it’s really the face that counts anyway! We’re calling for the nation’s wannabe heroes to come forward and take part in a one-off trip of a lifetime.”

Hopeful spacemen and women can apply by simply uploading a photo of their face to the Emerge Space Programme app, found on the brand’s Facebook page with a description of why they deserve to be sent on this epic trip.*

All nominations will go head-to-head for a public vote with the five most popular making it through to round two. The wining astronomic adventurer will then be selected from the five shortlisted entries by a panel of judges.

The summer space launch in June will be streamed on the Emerge social channels with footage of the ascent and descent earning ultimate bragging rights for the lucky cosmonaut for generations to come.
