The nation, and the world, is eagerly awaiting the forthcoming wedding on 29th April 2011. There is a long tradition of recording special events in stitches, celebrate the wedding of Prince William and Kate with this commemorative sampler. The venue is Westminster Abbey which takes centre stage on this design and the clock is set at the moment the ceremony will begin. Following a patriotic red, white and blue theme, the floral borders are made up of red roses, forget-me-nots and, Kate’s favourite flower, lilies. All is surrounded by a shimmering gold border and topped with the crown motif from the Prince’s coat of arms.

This spectacular embroidery has been created by Mary Hickmott, an internationally renowned designer and director of the UK's favourite embroidery magazine, New Stitches.
