Everest to team up with top TV chef, Phil Vickery

Popular TV chef Phil Vickery has been revealed as Everest’s latest celebrity partner. A celebrated chef and household name, Phil has been helping television audiences to get creative in the kitchen for more than two decades.

Phil Vickery is one of the UK’s most popular chefs and best known for his spot on This Morning, where he’s been impressing viewers for more than 18 years. He’s also appeared on several cookery shows, including Masterchef, Ready, Steady, Cook! and Phil Vickery’s Pudding Club. It was while starring on Ready, Steady Cook! that Phil met his wife, TV presenter Fern Britton.

Phil started his career as a commis chef in Folkestone, but quickly worked his way up, gaining experience in Michelin-starred restaurants before becoming head chef at The Castle Hotel in Taunton. During his time there, Phil’s talent and hard work led to the hotel being awarded a Michelin star and 4 AA Rosettes.

Phil is a fan of good, honest British food, and has gained a reputation for creating dishes that are as nutritious as they are delicious. He’s keen to make sure that people with intolerances and dietary restrictions can still enjoy great food. Phil is the National Food Ambassador for Coeliac UK, a role he’s played since 2010. He’s since released a range of specialist baking products and written three gluten-free cookbooks, including one specifically for children on a gluten-free diet.

Phil will be taking part in a number of events for Everest this year, including a cookery demonstration for members of the Women’s Institute. Phil will also be helping Everest to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, as he’s joining them for the World's Biggest Coffee Morning in September. Everest staff will be donning their aprons in a ‘bake-off’ competition, with Phil judging the Best Bake. The cakes will then be sold at the Everest coffee mornings that will be taking place up and down the country in support of the charity.

The Everest partnership will see Phil developing exclusive recipes throughout the year. The first one will be released in time for Valentine’s Day. Further seasonal recipes are planned throughout the year, including tempting treats for summer BBQs, and celebration dishes for Mother’s Day and Christmas.

Everest's Marketing Director, Martin Troughton, explains, “We’re delighted to be working with Phil Vickery. The kitchen is the true heart of the home and where we spend a lot of our time socialising and relaxing with family or friends. We know our customers are going to enjoy putting Phil’s recipes to the test and we shall definitely be trying them out ourselves.”

Phil Vickery added, “Everest has been helping to make people’s homes an enjoyable place to cook and eat for more than 50 years. It’s a true British brand, with a great reputation, so I’m really looking forward to working with them.

“I’ll be helping Everest’s customers to make the most of their kitchens – with dishes ranging from simple suppers, to celebratory meals to enjoy with friends.

“I’m really looking forward to meeting more of the Everest team at their charity bake-off and can’t wait to see what cakes they have in store for me to taste. Last year Everest raised a substantial amount for Macmillan through its coffee morning cakes sales and I am sure together, we can beat this figure.”
