Passengers using First TransPennine Express (FTPE) have scored it the joint best long distance franchise operator in the recent National Passenger Survey (Autumn 09) with a satisfaction score of 89 per cent.

The independent survey, which gathers the opinion of more than 25,000 rail users, also showed it to be a value for money operator with two thirds of passengers in the North saying they are happy with the value of their ticket when travelling with FTPE.

The train company improved by 10 per cent in the value for money category and achieved 63 per cent, which is 18 points higher than the national average of 45 per cent.
