Award-winning 3D effect plant is tipped to be UK’s favourite this summer

Calibrachoa PinkTastic 3D effect flowers

With a nod from the pros and the British public, it’s set to become a pink phenomenon

Calibrachoa MiniFamous® Double PinkTastic is the people’s choice.

A PINK-TASTIC PHENOMENON

The new Calibrachoa mini petunia 'PinkTastic’ is set to take pride of place in window boxes, containers and hanging baskets all over the UK this summer, bringing balconies, gardens, terraces and patios to life with its unique, three-dimensional appearance.

Not only has the prize-winning plant been singled-out as pick of the year by a panel of Europe-wide horticulture experts, but it also scooped a People’s Choice award at the RHS's flagship garden, Wisley. With a nod from the pros and the British public, it’s set to become a pink phenomenon as we enter the spring and summer planting season.

Each double flower has a crested arrangement of bi-coloured inner petals – creating a far more dazzling appearance than single flowers. And because it produces more shoots, it also generates more blooms – an array of glorious two-tone flowers, all summer long. Create a stunning display in hanging baskets and give your balconies and terraces a real wow factor with the mini petunia 'PinkTastic'.

HOW TO WORK A LITTLE MAGIC INTO CONTAINERS & HANGING BASKETS

Cascading colourful blooms brimming over pots and hanging baskets are the very essence of trailing bedding plants, which is why the Calibrachoa 'PinkTastic’ makes the perfect addition to any hanging basket, window box or container, with its striking double pink and white blooms. It is usually planted in the centre of window boxes, but can also be placed on either side, leaving enough space in-between to combine it with vibrant pelargoniums, heliotropes or osteospermum. Decorative foliage plants such as the silver-leafed Plectranthus will also work well in this planting scheme. An 80-centimetre long window box will take four plants, with one extra in a one-metre box.

IMPROVED ROOT SYSTEM FOR BETTER GROWTH

This ‘PinkTastic’ mini-petunia has become so widely recognised because it’s also incredibly vigorous and easy-to-grow. Since it produces particularly strong roots, it can absorb more nutrients and has a more far more fruitful branching habit than most. More shoots mean more blooms, and its double bi-coloured pink and white flowers create an amazing 3D effect. Plus, since a plant’s vitality and health go hand-in-hand, 'PinkTastic' is particularly resistant to mildew.

TIPS TO KEEP YOUR CALIBRACHOA FLOWERING

Follow these tips to keep your mini petunias flowering all summer long.

Water less often:
Try a self-watering container with an adequate water supply which will ensure that your plants thrive and that you have to water less frequently.

Fertilise less often:
Nothing really grows without fertiliser – but with a slow-release fertiliser, balcony and container plants grow more uniformly and flower more abundantly.

Smarter choice:
The double, bi-coloured mini petunia 'PinkTastic' has stronger roots and with more shoots, there are even more flowers to enjoy. And to cap it all, it is highly resistant to mildew.
