Stashbee, the storage marketplace startup, was recently supported by Harper James in carrying out and closing an investment round worth £2.5 million. By working with co-founders Anthony Paine and David Mantle and equity crowdfunding platform Seedrs, Harper James has helped the startup to surpass its investment goals for 2019.

Set up in 2016, Stashbee has rapidly grown to become the UK’s largest marketplace for accessing secure storage space, having signed up 18,500 registered users and hosts since its launch. Using the principles of the sharing economy, Stashbee brings people with lots to store together with those who have plenty of space to store it, allowing users the freedom of storage with local convenience and at lower costs.

This latest funding round quickly surpassed its £1.6 million target, instead closing with £2.5 million worth of investment sourced through Seedrs. As a client of Harper James’s Enterprise plan since 2017, throughout this process Stashbee had access to affordable legal support from their corporate solicitors to ensure compliance and maximise the return on their funding round. In addition to arranging the agreement documents, permissions and consents necessary for the investment round to launch, Harper James also assisted with necessary administration throughout and after the investment round had completed.

Stashbee’s recent success also includes annual customer payments now surpassing £1 million, and the amount of bookable space exceeding one million square feet.
Since the completion, Harper James has assisted in processing the new investors within the Enterprise Investment Scheme, and will continue to offer guidance and advice to Stashbee as it prepares for future funding rounds.
