He Named Me Malala has been picked as the opening film of the first ever Scottish Youth Film Festival. The programme, which is released today, also features popular local comic book caper Electric Man, as well as a packed programme of short films by young people including animation, live action and documentary.
The festival takes place for the first time on November 20th - 22nd in Armadale, West Lothian, and features short films made by young people from across Scotland as well as workshops, talks, events, special screenings and an Awards Ceremony. Armadale writer Lisa Ballantyne and Sunshine on Leith actor Kevin Guthrie were announced recently as patrons of the festival, and will be in attendance at the opening event.
