The largest open medical aid scheme in South Africa, Discovery Health, has launched a trio of key savings measures aimed at its two and a half million members.
The objective is to increase the affordability of essential and non-essential health care products and focus on prevention rather than cure.
Signed up members of Discovery Health can currently enjoy optometry cash discounts at the point of sale and cash back on over the counter medications and select products targeting a healthier lifestyle.
The amount of money paid back into the members’ bank account each month is dependent on all adult beneficiaries undergoing comprehensive health checks.
