Celebrated social media author shares insights with business community in series of social media planning workshops
Business owners and marketing managers who would like to get better results from their social media, will have the opportunity to learn from one of the UK’s brightest social media stars at a half-day workshop in Birmingham on November 21.
Marketing consultant, Luan Wise was spotted by LinkedIn’s PR agency back in 2015 and approached for their top five female marketers #LinkedInBestConnected campaign for International Women’s Day.
The professional social media network, which boasts millions of of members, subsequently signed up Luan as an author to write and deliver content for their online learning platform, Lynda.com, flying her out to the USA to record her videos on the topics of social media and content marketing. Her engaging tutorials have been viewed more than 140,000 times.
Luan, who has been praised for her practical, empathetic and inspirational approach to training, will use tips from her award-winning first book, Relax! It’s Only Social Media and the companion 2018 social media planner as a framework for the workshop, which is aimed at people who don’t currently have a social media plan, or who would like a ‘critical friend’ to look at their current approach.
Working in a small group, attendees will cover a range of topics, including how to identify social media goals, prepare key messages, generate content ideas, prepare a one-page plan and understand better how to measure success.
Luan says: “I want business professionals using social media to get results. I also want to show them how to keep it simple, manageable and be more relaxed about using social media. It’s only a time-suck if you let it be.
“It’s a common mistake that companies think they need to do social media just because everyone else does it. This conversation just wouldn’t happen for other types of promotion such as press or outdoor advertising. This particularly applies to Facebook for business purposes, when a business may get far better results from LinkedIn, Twitter or Instagram.
“My approach is focused on defining and working out how to best achieve business objectives and for each business, depending on why they want to use social media and what they wish to achieve.”
The workshop will run in Birmingham on 21st November, in London on 23rd November and in Bristol on 30th November. Places are limited and can be booked on Eventbrite.
Luan recommends purchasing her 2018 social media planner to accompany the course. Presented in an A5 spiral-bound diary format, the price of £34.99 plus postage will include access to her online planning portal which includes downloadable checklists, templates and guides.
