In the build-up to the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, four of Team GB’s shining stars are balancing their training and preparations for the world’s largest sporting event with modelling careers with leading London agency MOT Models.
This will be to the benefit of mainstream brands, which can harness the public’s enthusiasm for sport and leverage the significant popularity of individual sportspeople.
The firm’s objective is to obtain more income for stars in less mainstream sports. A few of the agency’s top stars are listed below.
Windsurfer Bryony Shaw had a hugely successful year in 2015, winning gold at the European Championships, silver at the World Championships and being named as part of Team GB for the 2016 Olympic Games. Bryony, who lives in Weymouth, won a bronze medal in the 2008 Beijing Games, the first windsurfing medal for the British Women’s windsurfing Olympic team. She also competed at London 2012, finishing in the top ten.
Charlotte Dujardin OBE, who rode to double gold medal victory in dressage in the London 2012 Olympic Games has signed and is looking forward to supporting brands in the run up to Rio 2016.
Since London 2012, the Enfield-born sportswoman has become one of the most successful dressage riders in history. After being awarded an OBE in 2013, Charlotte’s gold medal winning streak continued with victory at the European Dressage Championship in 2013, World Equestrian Games in 2014 and the Dressage World Cup in 2014 and 2015.
Charlotte said, “I’m really looking forward to the year ahead with MOT Models – this is a great platform to work with some great brands while raising my profile and the profile of dressage as a whole.”
25 year old Dani King MBE is one of Great Britain's most successful cyclists, having won three World Championship gold medals along with a handful of European and British Championship medals and titles. Dani also won gold at London 2012 in the Team Pursuit event.
Dani is looking to build on her success in 2016 by winning an Olympic Gold medal in the Road Race at Rio 2016.
Hull born and bred boxer Luke Campbell will not compete at Rio 2016 as he is a professional, but has a number of important fights coming up. He also earned an Olympic gold medal at London 2012, and has since carved a successful career in both amateur and, since 2013, professional boxing. Luke and his young family have all signed up to MOT Models and are available for family shoots. “Modelling is something that the family and I have always been keen to get into so this is very exciting for us. We can’t wait to get started!”
Mike Illes, Director of MOT Models, said, “It’s an honour to have such a diverse group of elite athletes on our books ahead of the world’s ultimate sporting competition. Olympic years are generally busier because advertisers in many areas will be promoting.
“{{Excitement runs high in Olympic years and we are well positioned to help brands leverage the Olympic fever with our sports personalities}}.”

About MOT Models
MOT Models is a leading London model agency which provides excellent models to top photographers, advertisers, designers and production companies. MOT models can be recognised in many advertising and commercial campaigns worldwide.
One of the oldest established agencies in the UK, MOT Models is constantly at the forefront of the modelling industry, bringing about innovation and setting the highest ethical standards.
MOT is a broad-based agency with models of all ages, ethnicities and types. One thing all MOT models share is quality of work and commitment to making sure that the assignment is successful, whether it is for a worldwide campaign or a brochure for a small company.
Whilst many agencies are now trying to imitate the MOT approach, none can match the combination of model and service offered by MOT.
MOT has an enviable reputation for developing new talent. Many of its leading models have been with it through their education and into full-time careers as models. The agency provides nurturing, considerate and thoughtful management, which leads to a good and lengthy career.
The agency was sold in 2006 to a large Dutch company and bought back into private ownership in 2009. The four directors and shareholders all work operationally and have over 70 years' combined experience in the agency. It is this level of experience that ensures that MOT Models maintains high and consistent levels - an agency that clients and models can trust.
