Excel’s Director Of Sales Joins APOLAN

Excel Networking Solutions – the copper and optical fibre cabling infrastructure provider – recently appointed a new Director of Sales for North America, Paul Mills.

Prior to joining the Excel team, Paul held management positions with 3M, Anixter and other prominent infrastructure and networking companies. Bringing more than 20 years of experience in the converged IP industry, his seasoned leadership skills and technical aptitude coupled with an in-depth knowledge of business development expertise makes him an adaptable and innovative management professional. It is this experience that provided a platform for Paul to take on a board member leadership position with APOLAN. Moving forward, starting in February 2019, Paul will take up the position of APOLAN Chairman to continue to share his expertise to further generate market opportunity for fibre-based networks in the American market.

Talking about his position on the board, Paul commented, “APOLAN has long been an advocate for promoting the growth and awareness of POL and I am thoroughly enjoying being a part of the team.”

APOLAN - the Association for Passive Optical LAN - is a non-profit organization that is driving adoption and educating the market about the technical and economic advantages of passive optical LAN technology. Through its membership, which is comprised of manufacturers, distributors, integrators and consulting companies actively involved in the marketplace, the Association helps designers, engineers, architects, building owners, CIOs and IT departments implement and successfully use Passive Optical LAN.

Paul continued, “It is an honour to be offered the APOLAN Chairman position, and I endeavour to rise to the challenge in this fast-moving market. The global passive optical network market is experiencing an intense growth in the industry and this is anticipated to rise in the coming years.”

Discussing Excel Networking Solutions and GPON, Paul concluded, “Excel’s product range is continually evolving to adopt the latest in technological innovations, and I am excited to be at the heart of discussions surrounding GPON, a market that is expected to increase from 8 billion USD to 40 billion USD by 2024. It will be interesting to see the market developments, and to be able to contribute to discussions through APOLAN.”
