Ideal Hardware, the UK’s leading storage distributor, today announced enhancements to the StoreAge product line to further boost their Open SAN portfolio. StoreAge’s Storage Virtualisation Manager (SVM™) that provides virtual volume management in a heterogeneous environment with servers and storage from multiple vendors, now supports Solaris 2.7 and 2.8 and has Snapshotting capabilities.

“The SVM™ is an innovative SAN appliance that provides storage pooling and flexible virtual volumes allocation featuring a single point of storage management,” says Paul Holder, product manager in Ideal’s Enterprise Storage Group.

“SAN is a strategic issue which will continue to grow exponentially in importance to the corporate marketplace, yet knowledge on the topic is still limited,” continues Paul. “To further assist our clients on the subject in terms of selection and implementation, we have arranged our SANblast events. We are delighted that StoreAge presented in London and will be presenting at the Manchester and Birmingham events. It will provide an opportunity for resellers to come to grips with the selling and implementation of SAN solutions.”

“We are extremely happy to join forces with Ideal Hardware to deliver complete storage networking solutions to the enterprise market,” says Dani Naor, director of business development at StoreAge. “Customers are now widely adopting new technologies in the storage space. Storage virtualisation is the recognised enabler for storage networking and our innovative asymmetric architecture positions us, and our partners, at the forefront of these developments. We are looking forward to presenting at SANblast, the premier industry event.”
