#MicroBizMattersDay Thanks Charlie Mullins OBE and Pimlico Plumbers
The co-founders of #MicroBizMattersDay have expressed their thanks to London-based Pimlico Plumbers who hosted the third annual event at their Sail Street headquarters on Friday 13 January. The global, social media event brought millions of small and micro business owners together to share ideas and learn from champions of business.
Throughout the day the hashtag #MicroBizMattersDay was used to allow microbusiness owners across the globe to connect and share their activities. At 3:00 PM #MicroBizMattersDay was the second highest trending hashtag on Twitter, only being beaten by #Friday13th. Ahead of the event, business owners, many leaders in their sector, helped others through the #IGave13 initiative which allowed experts to share 13 tips or 13 minutes to help microbusiness owners succeed.
As well as the main event in London, live YouTube discussions took place with entrepreneurs who were hosting parties. The biggest of these took place in Hull, City of Culture 2017. Pimlico Plumbers Managing Director Charlie Mullins OBE, founder and CEO of the MOBOs Kanya King MBE and the #MicroBizMattersDay co-founders took part in a special question and answer session which discussed customers, cash flow and confidence. Questions came from various business owners around the world using Twitter and from the guests at Pimlico Plumbers.
Charlie Mullins OBE also received the inaugural #MicroBizMattersDay Global Micro Enterprise Ambassador Award which recognised his hard work in supporting microbusinesses and the #MicroBizMattersDay initiative at an event at the ScanSnap headquarters in Baker Street, London. Event supporter Sage presented an award to the winner of their Business Idea competition.
Event co-founder Tina Boden said, “We can’t thank Pimlico Plumbers enough for hosting #MicroBizMattersDay and we are already starting plans for the fourth #MicroBizMattersDay next year. Their generosity helped make our day successful and reinforced why it is so important for microbusinesses to support each other.”
Tony Robinson OBE said, “The most important part of #MicroBizMattersDay is that millions of microbusiness owners around the world are able to kick off 2017 by helping each other grow. It’s through connecting with each other we can create more jobs and encourage others to start and grow a microbusiness.
“We have started preparation on the next #MicroBizMattersDay which will be bigger and better than ever before. Friday 12 January 2018 will be a date for the diaries”.
