market solutions, and products for the rapidly expanding "" business

Oracle and VERITAS Software are currently collaborating on the following

· Model the scalability and availability requirements that are unique
to the "" and e-business market to deliver recommended software
configurations to meet the emerging requirements of this high growth market

· Expand the I/O interfaces already delivered to build the next
generation I/O interfaces to address the high availability requirements of
the "" market. This includes the implementation of a new custom I/O
interface in the VERITAS File System and VERITAS Volume Manager. This
interface was designed by Oracle to increase the efficiency and reliability
of access to database files.

· Expand development collaboration to allow both companies' customers to
utilise remote mirroring for database disaster recovery, improve the
manageability of clustered configurations and create more robust
incremental backup solutions.

· Collaboratively market and sell these mutually developed solutions
