BusinessesForSale.com survey will discover the UK’s Business Hero and Villain of 2018

BusinessesForSale.com, the UK’s largest community of business vendors and buyers, is inviting all members of the small business community to vote for their Business Hero and Business Villain of 2018.

The short survey goes live today and takes just three minutes to complete. All participants will be entered into a draw to win a £100 Amazon Voucher and the winners will be made public in January.

Rufus Bazley, Marketing Director at BusinessesForSale.com says, “While this is a bit of fun to end the year on, we are genuinely interested to see who hits the top spots in both polls and the reasons behind the votes. {{I am sure with the uncertainty surrounding Brexit we’ll be seeing a number of politicians feature}}. I am also hopeful that lower profile, but genuinely admirable businesses make it to the heroes list, like our Small Business Big Heart winners and finalists.”

We asked Andrew Markou, CEO of Dynamis who he’d put at the top of his lists…

“My business hero is without doubt Micheal Acton Smith, OBE, creator or Moshi Monsters and founder of Firebox. He is a person who has always taken a bigger picture approach to business and maintained fantastic ethics. His latest app, Calm, introduces meditation to all and was the worthy winner of apple’s own app of the year prize.”

As for villains Andrew opted for Jeff Fairburn, formerly CEO of Persimmon who walked out of an interview with the BBC when they probed him about a £75m bonus whilst still in the role. “The shareholders had already reduced this amount from £110m and he proved he was not worth a penny of any bonus by his cowardly actions.” Andrew explains.

Rufus adds, “Going public with the votes is a great positioning statement for small businesses and those who tag their heroes and villains get the opportunity to express their opinions directly to the people they’ve voted for.”

The associated hashtags #BusinessHero2018 and #BusinessVillain2018 are being used on social media by those participating.

The short survey takes just three minutes and all participants can elect to be in with a chance of winning £100 in Amazon vouchers. Just click here to take part and cast your vote.
