Outdoor & Country shortlisted for 2013 Customer Experience Awards

Outdoor & Country, owned by Smith and Morris Retail Ltd, one of the UK’s leading online suppliers of casual outdoor and country clothing, are delighted to announce that they have been included in the shortlist of finalists for the UK Customer Experience Awards

The award is a unique celebration of the best customer experience provided by UK retailers. With companies from all over the world competing for recognition, it’s an endorsement of an organisation’s relationship with their audience, and how well they develop their business model based on the interaction with the customer. And Smith & Morris Retail have certainly been ticking all the right boxes.

An Honour To Be Shortlisted

“Being shortlisted is an honour, but we’re particularly delighted to be nominated at the Customer Experience awards, as we regard it as the most important aspect of our business,” comments Jonathan Capener Managing Director of Outdoor and Country. “We are constantly looking for ways to improve our service and our customers’ experience online, so we always respond to customer feedback and ensure we find better ways to provide a top quality service for all our online visitors,” he adds.

Based in Blackbrook, Newcastle Under Lyme, the company has already had a very busy year. “Despite the economic climate, we’ve been busier than ever,” explains Jonathan Capener. “But we’ve always found time to continuously assess the business model and make adjustments and improvements whenever and wherever we see them. Our aim is to provide all of our customers with a fantastic online experience and total satisfaction in every transaction, and the fact that we’ve been nominated for such a prestigious international award suggests that we’ve been getting it right too!” he adds.

New Brands

Outdoor & Country’s success story is driven by a desire to constantly bring customers the best in casual and outdoor clothing at affordable prices. This year the company has added a wide selection of new brands to complement the classics such as Barbour Clothing and Hunter Wellies. “Our clothes aren’t just for the ‘country set’, but for everyone who loves the outdoors, no matter what the British weather throws at us,” comments Hollie Birchall Merchandise Coordinator of Outdoor & Country.

“We’ve spent a lot of time listening to our customers about what they want, and collating that feedback so that we can ensure that the user experience is memorable for all the right reasons, whether that’s on the website, on our social media pages or in store,” she adds.

A Great Team

Jonathan Capener is quick to emphasise that the company’s success is down to one important factor – teamwork. “We’ve built a great team of people around us and this nomination is thanks to them. But we won’t be resting on our laurels either, and while we’re all looking forward to the event in London in October, our priority is and always will be to focus on serving our customers every single day,” he concludes.
