In 2017 Centrica partnered with Pure Measures to assess and coach its 12,000 field engineers on safety-critical thinking. Front-line feedback from the programme was positive and, in particular, how it gave managers an accurate profile of an individual’s strengths, specific development areas and a constructive focus for one-to-one coaching sessions. In addition, it provided high quality standardised data that was aggregated and provided insight on group strengths and potential risks at local, regional and national levels.
Centrica have announced that they will continue with the programme throughout 2018 and are currently working with Pure Measures on an additional assessment to evaluate its leaders.
Neil Bachelor, Pure Measures’ Director, commented, “We are delighted to continue working with Centrica, helping them identify their strengths and pinpoint areas of development as part of their drive towards an incident free work place.”
Joe Monastero, the British Gas HSE Support and Development Manager, added: “We’re very pleased by the accuracy of insights that the Pure Measures assessments have provided. Not only have they enabled our managers to have effective and proactive discussions with their teams but also, at a national level, helped us understand our areas of strength and potential improvement, refine our safety strategy and, ultimately, create a safer workplace for our engineers and customers.”
