Nine out of ten workers are squandering millions of pounds every year by not taking expert independent financial advice.

New research by ICM reveals that despite householders still keeping a tight rein on domestic expenses in the wake of the recession, rising taxes and concerns about job losses, few are bothering to look at ways to save cash on their financial outgoings and boost their investments.

A staggering 90 per cent of workers quizzed about their finances revealed they have not used an independent financial advisor in the last 12 months to review their pensions, savings, life cover, investments, insurance premiums or mortgages.
