Safestore Self Storage: Come and Donate at the ‘Wrap Up London 2016’ Campaign!

Borehamwood, Hertfordshire – October 25th, 2016 – Safestore Self Storage are supporting Hands on London, a charity who works to develop volunteering efforts alongside other non-profit organisations, in their 6th Wrap Up London campaign. The campaign aims to collect 15,000 coats which will be donated to vulnerable groups of people including the homeless, elderly, refugees and many more.

Based in some of Safestore’s London branches and underground stations a group of volunteers will collect unwanted coats from the public. The coats will be distributed to homeless shelters, refugee centres, elderly organisations and other charities which support vulnerable groups. Men's coats are in particularly high demand as statistically, there are more homeless men than women in the UK.

John Meech, Hands on London’s CEO, said “most of us have an old coat at the back of our wardrobe that we no longer want or need. Often it’s gathering dust, and we don’t know what to do with it. That’s where Wrap Up London comes in handy”.

The campaign will run from the 7th to the 18th of November 2016 where the public and local companies may drop off coats to any of the stores. However for commuters who pass through any of the underground stations listed below collections will be held over a shorter period from the 7th to the 9th. At the end of the campaign the coats will be collected and distributed to those in need.
