30th September 2015

SAINT JAMES RUM, the number one Caribbean Pure Cane Rum in the world, has increased volume sales by +14% worldwide since the beginning of the year. The 250th Anniversary of SAINT JAMES Plantations has favoured a growth in sales with events around the world and a general mobilization for the brand.

SAINT JAMES was specially honoured during a week of festivities on its home island with the reveal of impressive pieces of art including a live contemporary dance performance and a monumental mural graffiti. The 250-year-long history of SAINT JAMES is also symbolized on site with an ultramodern metal sculpture that will last over time. Rum experts, clients, journalists and VIPs who contributed to the brand’s accomplishments celebrated its success during a special evening at the SAINT JAMES House, in Sainte Marie, Martinique. The highlight of the evening was a special auction of the best SAINT JAMES vintages spanning over the past 250 years including the sale of an extremely rare 1885 millésime bottle for €16,000.

The anniversary is currently at its peak for SAINT JAMES, with special events and tastings being organized worldwide to celebrate this unique anniversary, as the brand is seeing its sales and notoriety increase.

SAINT JAMES finishes on a high note by being elected “Best Distillery of the year 2015” at the International Rum Conference in Madrid.

Notes to editors:

SAINT JAMES Rum is celebrating its 250th anniversary this year with a special commemorative bottling, a host of festivities on its home island of Martinique, and a worldwide marketing campaign.
From the outset the brand was a pioneer in its category, being the first rum to create vintage specific blends, and designing an innovative square bottle in order to maximise storage and minimise breakage on the long sea-voyages to its original export markets. Today the iconic Rhum Agricole is still produced in Martinique, which has the only rum AOC (appellation controllée) in the world, and more precisely in Sainte Marie, on the East coast of the island.

SAINT JAMES Rums are born out of a 250-year-long history of passion and craftsmanship. The highly awarded SAINT JAMES Agricole Rums from Martinique, made from fresh sugar cane juice, are appreciated by connoisseurs for their character and uniqueness. Distributed in over 50 countries, SAINT JAMES is the N°1 worldwide pure cane Caribbean Rum.

In the UK SAINT JAMES Rum is available through outlets including: and
