Promapp Solutions – an industry leading provider of cloud-based business process management (BPM) software has announced that MODEC, Inc. (MODEC), a leading specialist of floating production systems for the offshore oil and gas industry, has chosen its BPM software for its Ghana operations. MODEC will deploy Promapp’s BPM software to simplify processes for both on-shore and off-shore operations.
Project Manager at MODEC Ghana Ltd, Richard Cole commented, “When managing off shore oil and gas platforms, our management system is a major component in how we manage risks associated with operating offshore facilities. We felt we needed to cut through some of the complexity of our existing processes that were sometimes highly technical.”
Introducing universally understood procedures
He continued, “Many of our procedures were based on the knowledge of key personnel and at our Ghana operations, where there is a mix of nationalities, English is not always the first language. By investing in a centralised easy-to-use web-based process management solution, {{we can give more staff the ability to capture, access, and change procedures}}. These will then be universally understood by all relevant parties including both internal teams and also our clients.”
Why MODEC chose Promapp
Richard explains why MODEC selected Promapp: "We looked at a number of solutions but we felt that Promapp was fit for purpose and we wanted something that would be very straightforward to use from any location. Bandwidth can be an issue for remote operations so the fact that it is in the cloud rather than replicated on multiple servers in different locations, means that process and procedure information will always be easy to retrieve, understand and manage.
“With Promapp, it’s all about the user experience. You can immediately see the big picture and then drill down to the detail that affects you the user. This, plus the ability to leave comments and suggestions within the system, encourages greater levels of engagement across all teams, leading to a culture of continual improvement.”
MODEC plans to use Promapp across its MODEC Ghana business so they can better understand how they operate and ultimately ensure greater efficiency and profitability.
Richard concludes, “We are also very excited to explore Promapp’s Process Variant Management module that we can use to save on resources when creating particular processes in the supply chain like Budget Variant Requests that can be time-consuming.”
Currently MODEC Ghana has around 700 processes but plans to streamline these by a third using Promapp.
