The Forton Group achieves international recognition for its Professional Leadership Coach Training Programme

The ICF accreditation stamp of approval

“The ICF accreditation is a huge accolade for the whole team, who work hard to assure quality standards for our programme participants.”

The Forton Group today announced that its Professional Leadership Coach Training Programme has been re-accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF) for a further three years.

The Forton Group provides leadership coaching and coach training which delivers measurable returns on investment. The programme develops leadership and coaching skills in business managers and leaders inside major organisations, and is now also available as an open programme in London and Toronto.
ICF accreditation includes evaluating the training, Programme Leader experience, programme quality and content, exam standards, administration, and students support.

“The ICF accreditation is a huge accolade for the whole team, who work hard to assure quality standards for our programme participants.” The Forton Group CEO, Helen Caton Hughes, said today.

Ms Caton Hughes is, however, concerned that coach training should be delivered to professional standards:
“Anyone in the UK can call themselves a ‘coach’: it’s vital to make clear the advantages of professional coach training. We develop leaders and managers to utilise leadership coaching skills, and we train Professional Coaches to coach business leaders in significant positions of responsibility.”

The Forton Group provides professional level leadership coaching and coach training to some of the UK’s major organisations, including the NHS, telecommunications and the rail industries. It recently launched its programmes in North America and has plans to expand to Australia and Asia in 2010.

The leadership coaching world is a highly confidential environment, with few leaders being prepared to go on the record about their coaching experience; one senior leader within a 32,000 strong organisation said off the record recently,
“Without a doubt, the Forton Group’s Professional Leadership Coaching Programme was simply the best course I’ve been on in 25+ years of management training. I went on the Foundation Course and immediately booked myself onto the next two levels. I’ve also seen the transformation in my people when we’ve included coaching skills as part of their development plan.”

Coaching has been shown to be one of the most powerful ways of delivering learning and development into the workplace, with dramatic returns on investment (ROI) when compared with traditional training methods. A recent study by Price Waterhouse Coopers indicated significant ROI, with a median return of seven times the initial investment, with 28% of respondents seeing an ROI of 10 to 49 times the investment costs.
