Royal Mail and the Forton Group delivering for Women in Logistics

At the 2013 Annual Women in Logistics Ball, the Company of the Year Award, sponsored by the Forton Group, was won by Royal Mail.

Announced by Ruth Waring, Founder of Women in Logistics, other awards included the SME of the year, Woman of the Year and Young Woman of the Year. Royal Mail also had women shortlisted in these two latter categories.

The evening was a glittering success with over £7000 raised for Transaid, the international development charity which aims to improve access to basic services and economic opportunity for poor people in developing countries.

Presented by Bob Hughes of the Forton Group, the Company of the Year award was accepted by Sue Whalley Royal Mail’s Group Director - Regulation, Government Affairs, Pricing & Business Analysis, and Euan McMurdo – Director of Logistics.

Louise Cartwright, Head of Engagement at Royal Mail Group said:

We are delighted and honoured to have received the award for Company of the Year and for two of our women, Anna Gray and Katie Cox to have been shortlisted for Woman of the Year and Young Woman of the Year respectively”

Winners were shortlisted by Professor Richard Wilding OBE, Cranfield University School of Management, and then voted for online by WiL members.
