Who needs Westminster Abbey when you have Merry Hill?

A lucky couple are set to be treated like a king and queen with the chance to win a £3,500 royal wedding day prize at a Black Country hotel.

The winning bride and groom will have their own royal wedding with an all expenses paid day and reception at the four-star Copthorne Hotel at Merry Hill on the same day Kate and Wills tie the knot on Friday, April 29.

The competition winners will share their dream day in sumptuous style with a civil ceremony at the hotel, a wedding breakfast for up to 40 guests with reception drinks, evening buffet for up to 80 guests and a hotel suite for the married couple, all courtesy of the waterfront hotel.

The prize also incorporates a host of extras including a wedding dress, flowers, table decorations and a discount on a wedding cake and is set to raise funds for Wolverhampton's Compton Hospice.

Couples simply need to write to the hotel describing why they think they should win the prize by Friday February 25, with 10 per cent of takings at hotel’s bar being donated to Wolverhampton’s Compton Hospice as part of the package.

“We want to hear from couples who have an exceptional love story to tell, whether that’s overcoming adversity or perhaps a loving couple who’ve always wanted to get married but haven’t been able to.

"We will honour them with a wedding day fit for a king or queen. Whatever your romantic journey has been we’d love to hear from you.

“As a supporter of Compton Hospice we also wanted to make sure a donation went to this great local charity as part of the big royal day,” he said.

The prize also includes a host of wedding day extras with top table flowers courtesy of the hotel, a bridal posy bouquet courtesy of Eloquent Flowers, table decorations, chair covers and sashes from Cloud 9 Balloons.

Debenhams Merry Hill has donated a wedding gown from their debut collection and the bride can have a choice of shoes or tiara courtesy of Wedding Connections with The Wardrobe at Kinver is offering a 15 per cent discount off wedding accessories.

There is also 20 per cent off a wedding cake from Cakeland along with table name cards, seating plan, table numbers and menus all from By Donna Blundell as part of the prize.

This prize draw is open to residents of the UK aged 18 years or over except employees of Passionate Media, or Copthorne Hotels and Compton Hospice, their families, or anyone else professionally associated with the draw.

Details of how to enter form part of the terms and conditions. It is a condition of entry that all rules are accepted as final and that the competitor agrees to abide by these rules. The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Entry is automatic on submission of correspondence as detailed above, recieved by the nominated hotel employee on or before February 25 2011.

The winner will be notified within two days of competition closing. The prize as described is available on the date of publication.

The winners will be required to participate in publicity.

Events may occur that render the prize draw itself or the awarding of the prize impossible due to reasons beyond the control of the Promoter and accordingly the Promoter may at its absolute discretion vary or amend the promotion and the entrant agrees that no liability shall attach to the Promoter as a result thereof.
