The Worshipful Company of Horners is extending its widely acclaimed exhibition until 5th September in response to continuing demand to see the successful exhibition.
‘Horn: an Everyday Plastic' is currently taking place at London Metropolitan University’s Frederick Parker Gallery and includes a large selection of horn artefacts and examples of early plastics from private collections.
The exhibition takes a look into the history of horn and plastic materials in our day-to-day and personal lives. It shows that horn was used as an everyday material for familiar objects long before these objects were made in plastic. The exhibition also demonstrates how the early plastic items closely followed the historical horn objects, both in design and workmanship.
