Transdermal application of magnesium has significant advantages over oral supplementation

Fact: A study just published in the European Journal of Nutraceutical Research has found that following 12 weeks of treatment with Magnesium Oil Spray, 90% of subjects showed significantly raised levels of cellular magnesium – an effect that can take up to two years when using oral supplementation.

Fact: 80% of subjects showed detoxification of heavy metals, indicating that BetterYou Magnesium Oil Spray could have a significant effect on many areas of general health.

Why this is important: Without magnesium, calcium is simply not as soluble within the blood and can settle in soft tissue around joints, within muscles and collect around old fractures and stress points, building into calcium spurs - which can cause pain and discomfort.

Fact: Applying magnesium transdermally, or directly onto the skin, in a spray format has been found to raise magnesium levels in the body and help reduce the risk of deficiency-related health problems

Fact: BetterYou Magnesium Oil Spray is the first product of its kind and delivers pure magnesium oil in its most absorbable form directly into the skin tissue, where it efficiently replaces magnesium lost through modern diet and pressured lifestyles

About the study…

The study took place over a 12 week period with magnesium levels measured through hair analysis. Participants were then instructed to apply 20 sprays of Magnesium Oil Spray anywhere on the body as well as a 20 minute foot soak in BetterYou Magnesium Oil Soak twice weekly. Further hair analysis was carried out after 12 weeks, showing the raised magnesium levels.

The results show that the effectiveness of Magnesium Oil Spray rests on the transdermal format – oral supplements are much more difficult for the gut to absorb than for the skin to absorb a spray, and studies have shown that magnesium oxide, an inexpensive magnesium complex used in many popular dietary supplements, has an absorption rate of as little as 4%. Even magnesium citrate, which is relatively well absorbed, will have an absorption rate of 50% at the most.

Karen Watkins, one of the study’s authors, says: ‘We know that a large proportion of the population is deficient in magnesium. This study shows that transdermal application is an efficient and effective way of getting magnesium into the body and avoiding the effects of deficiency.’

One of the key effects of magnesium deficiency is a disruption in calcium absorption by the body’s cells. Calcium also causes muscles to contract, whereas magnesium causes them to relax. Therefore, increasing magnesium intake can help to calm and relax muscles to reduce tension and tightness, as well as pain related to muscle and joint strain from sport and general wear and tear. Calcium is also important in bone building and prevention of conditions such as osteoarthritis.

This new study represents a major step forward in understanding of both the absorption of magnesium in the body and also the dramatic impact the mineral has on our health. Research shows that around 3/4 of the population are likely to have suboptimal levels of magnesium, and the transdermal application of the BetterYou range is the most effective and convenient way to correct this imbalance.
