PointBeyond Showcases SharePoint Framework at the Gartner Portals, Content & Collaboration Summit 2010

Specialist SharePoint consultancy unveils unique StraightForward framework at the Gartner Portals, Content & Collaboration Summit 2010, London, 15-16 September

Egham, UK, 19th August, 2010 – Specialist Microsoft SharePoint consultancy, PointBeyond today announced that it will unveil its StraightForward framework at the Gartner Portals, Content & Collaboration Summit 2010 in London, 15-16 September. StraightForward is based on many years experience with SharePoint projects and is designed to harness a series of key processes to mitigate the risk often associated with the scale and complexity of enterprise deployments.

Ian Woodgate, Managing Director at PointBeyond which is a main sponsor at the Summit explained, “It sounds obvious, but too many organisations are failing to start their SharePoint projects with a clear focus on the business need. Under the StraightForward framework, we start every client project this way, and then go on to define a strong project strategy,” he continued. “This is then delivered against a logical six-point delivery framework that has been tested repeatedly in live business environments. This experience has allowed us to model processes and create fast-track solutions.”

Coventry Building Society hired PointBeyond for an intranet project. Richard Field, Head of Corporate Communications explained, “PointBeyond was involved in the project from the start. We didn’t just want PointBeyond to take our plan and give us a technical solution. We wanted them to use their in-depth knowledge of intranets, and SharePoint in particular, to help us meet our objectives. We’re very happy with the end product.”

With issues such as collaboration remaining high on the CIO agenda, this year’s Gartner Portals, Content & Collaboration Summit looks at a market where the pace of change and technological development has never been faster. Consumers have embraced social networking, driving technologies and behaviours into the workplace. The way in which organizations interact with customers and employees is changing quickly and irrevocably. At the Summit, Gartner analysts will provide advice on how to harness the power of social software and realise real return from collaboration investments.
