GREAT British innovation shines at Mobile World Congress 2017


• More than 100 UK companies exhibiting at the GREAT Britain Pavilion
• UK companies presenting ground-breaking innovation in Internet of Things, devices, sensors, security and mobile health
• Visit the UK delegation at Mobile World Congress, Hall 7 Stand B41and 4YFN stand P3

Mobile World Congress/Four Years from Now 2017, Barcelona – The GREAT Britain and Northern Ireland Pavilions at Mobile World Congress (MWC) and Four Years from Now (4YFN) 2017 will be bringing together UK innovation with more than 100 companies across 1000 square metres of space at the heart of the world’s biggest and most influential mobile and startup events.

The UK delegation of companies is one of the largest of any country in the world. 47 UK companies at MWC have been supported by the Tradeshow Access Programme (TAP), a Department for International Trade (DIT) initiative that supports UK companies presenting ground breaking mobile innovation. The successful UK Tech Zone is returning to MWC 2017, enabling 16 companies to exhibit at the event.
New UK innovators will join established UK companies such as ARM, Dialogue Group, ip.access and Neural Technologies in demonstrating the UK’s mobile expertise. {{From infrastructure development to 5G, apps to mobile security, mobile money to accessories the UK continues to lead innovation in the industry.}}

Salford-based MyManu will be showcasing Clik – the world’s first wireless earphones with live voice translation into 37 languages. Cohesion Medical- one of a number of Scotland-based mobile innovators- will be showcasing its connected digital health platform that uses real time data analytics. London-based Flo Live Limited combines expertise on mobile networking and big data to deliver enhanced security to IoT applications.

GREAT British innovation at 4YFN includes SafeToNet, a company that deploys deep learning techniques to block harmful content before it can reach children and young people, using advanced technology to address the issue of cyber bullying head on. Meanwhile Cranfield-based Briteyellow will be showcasing its patent pending indoor GPS technology that enables a more effective location service anywhere.

Mark Birchall, Managing Director of Tradefair, the company that organises the UK presence at Mobile World Congress on behalf of techUK says: “The TAP (Tradeshow Access Programme) helps to ensure that the most impressive UK mobile companies can be present at MWC and 4YFN.”

Birchall continues: “The UK has a proud heritage in mobile, with UK companies helping to shape the industry since its inception. The UK presence at MWC and 4YFN this year will be one of the largest and most diverse since the event was launched. 11 start-ups will exhibit for the first time at 4YFN, home of the growing global technology start-up community that is taking place in Barcelona at the same time as MWC.”
