Zen Internet announces Herefordshire Housing contract win
“We selected Zen as our preferred partner because they fully understood our requirements from the outset
Zen Internet will provide Herefordshire Housing, a not-for-profit housing and support group based in Hereford, with a comprehensive MPLS IP VPN solution.
The new IP VPN will cover Herefordshire Housing’s 10 sites, and includes Ethernet-in-the-First-Mile, Ethernet over FTTC, and Fibre-to-the-Cabinet.
Ben Burrows, Zen’s business development manager, says that Zen’s renowned customer service and support was crucial to the deal being agreed with Herefordshire Housing. “Their existing provider had the capacity to give them the product they needed, but there was no partnership there.” He adds, “They wanted a partner they could discuss things with. A trusted adviser who could provide advice and guidance around network architecture and contribute to wider IT strategy. They were keen on the relationship that we could provide.”
Dave Hollings, senior ICT systems analyst at Herefordshire Housing, adds that: “We selected Zen as our preferred partner because they fully understood our requirements from the outset. They spent time listening to our needs, understanding our budgets, and delivered the solution against those requirements.”
Other benefits to Herefordshire Housing from the deal with Zen include a detailed, bespoke design; disaster recovery; centralised network security; and a novel solution which sees Herefordshire Housing’s 4G mobile data access routed through Zen’s servers for security and traffic control.
