As the London 2012 Paralympic Games approached, ipadio were chosen to help make the voices of previously silent athletes heard through the use of our innovative technology. Despite the fact that this spectacular sporting event attracts world-wide media coverage, there had never been an attempt to collect and broadcast User Generated Content (UGC) from the athletes until the 2012 Games, where ipadio helped make it happen.

In partnership with mobile phone giant Samsung, ipadio’s unique technology was used to create a video app which allowed selected athletes to record high quality video depicting their experience of the Games using their smartphones. This footage was then instantaneously uploaded to the web, giving hundreds of thousands of people across the world a unique insight into the experiences of these great sporting professionals.
