we have improved visibility and a more complete audit trail for prescribing, administering, and disposing of controlled drugs

Imprivata Confirm ID integrates with JAC Electronic Prescribing and Medicine Administration system to enable fast, secure user authentication for medication lifecycle workflows to improve efficiency and auditing

London, England —Imprivata®, the healthcare IT security company, today announced that Imprivata Confirm ID™, the comprehensive identity and multifactor authentication platform for healthcare, integrates with JAC Medicines Management electronic prescribing system to improve security, auditing, and efficiency of medication lifecycle workflows. Imprivata Confirm ID for Clinical Workflows enables fast, secure authentication within the JAC Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (EPMA) system, including for witness signing for drug administering and other workflows. The integrated solution simplifies user authentication, improves efficiency and auditing, and saves time while also strengthening security.

Imprivata Confirm ID allows users to simply tap a proximity card to authenticate within the JAC EPMA system, replacing the manual entry of user name and passwords, which are often complex and can be easily forgotten. Imprivata Confirm ID gives care providers a fast and convenient workflow, enabling strong authentication and delivering a seamless, consistent user experience.

“Good cyber hygiene isn’t just about protecting systems from harm, it’s about enabling technological leaps that help to improve patient outcomes and deliver proactive care management,” commented Dr. Saif Abed, Medical Director EMEA at Imprivata. “The Imprivata Confirm ID integration with JAC EPMA makes security invisible to users, improving security and compliance without compromising efficiency or the delivery of patient care.”

Imprivata Confirm ID is part of the Imprivata Authentication and Access Management platform, which includes Imprivata OneSign®, healthcare’s leading enterprise single sign-on (SSO) solution, and enables healthcare organisations to securely and conveniently access and transact patient information both inside and outside of the hospital. Imprivata Confirm ID for Clinical Workflows combines security and convenience by enabling fast, consistent authentication whilst improving visibility into all user interactions with patient records, hospital financial data, and other sensitive information across all enterprise workflows. This delivers an auditable trail enabling organisations to meet important governance requirements and reduce the risks of information loss.

Grant Harris, Director of IT at Western Sussex Hospital NHS Foundation Trust stated; “Imprivata has helped us optimise our use of the JAC system by improving efficiencies for clinicians and enabling fast, convenient authentication for witness signing. Enabling these automated workflows with the same process we have for SSO delivers a consistent, familiar workflow for accessing workstations and applications as well as for the re-authentication workflows within the JAC system. Not only has this driven adoption, but we have improved visibility and a more complete audit trail for prescribing, administering, and disposing of controlled drugs.”

The JAC EPMA and Imprivata Confirm ID for Clinical Workflows integration will be on show for the first time at Healthcare Efficiency through Technology (HETT), on 28 September 2016, Olympia, London, on stand numbers: H398 for Imprivata and H404 for JAC. http://www.hettshow.co.uk/exhibitor/imprivata-2/
