Charity pet insurer reveals the cat-claim capital of the UK.
PDSA Petsurance has hailed Edinburgh as the most cat-accident prone city in the UK, with nearly £30,000 worth of claims paid out to owners of poorly moggies in 2013.
Coming in second place on the top ten table is Leeds, whose owners claimed nearly £23,000 to cover vet bills for their feline friends’ accidents, illness and sickness, followed by Derby with £18,000 worth of cat claims*.
The figures have been revealed as the pet insurance industry expresses concerns over the number of cats left uninsured in the UK. In fact, PDSA figures indicate that only 34% of UK cats are insured** - leaving their owners at risk from unexpected and potentially unaffordable veterinary bills.
