The event hosted by Employers Network for Equality & Inclusion calls for policy change.
The next Government has been set the challenge of accelerating the pace of change on equality & inclusion by the UK’s leading employers. Members of the Employers Network for Equality & Inclusion (enei) were gathered at the House of Lords for enei’s annual Parliamentary Reception, where enei’s patron, David Blunkett MP, launched the enei Equality & Inclusion Manifesto.
Those gathered at the event also heard from enei chair Harry Gaskell, managing partner at EY, who said that the UK was not bringing its diverse workforce to bear in the global economic race, and Dr Ros Altmann, the Government’s business champion for older workers, who told the 160 representatives of the UK’s major employers that a real issue is that older workers are not taken seriously in the workplace.
