London, 14 March 2016

A record 7,381 overseas property hunters filled the aisles of Manchester Central over the weekend for the first A Place in the Sun Live overseas property exhibition of 2016.

The show opened at 10am each day to queues of overseas property hunters eager to source their dream property. Over 150 exhibitors showcasing properties from Spain, France, Portugal, Italy, the USA, Cyprus, Bulgaria and elsewhere were busy offering guidance, advice and answering buyers’ questions.

The ever-popular stage area The Hub was standing-room only with seminars hosted by A Place in the Sun magazine editor, Liz Rowlinson. Experts joined Liz on stage to cover topics including “The Portugal property market”, “All you need to know about buying in Spain” and “Buying property in Florida”.

Jasmine Harman, Laura Hamilton and Amanda Lamb joined Ryan Philpott on The Hub stage throughout the three days, offering fun anecdotes and experiences from the television show and some top tips before joining the visitors for one-to-ones, signings and photographs.

In the specialist France Village visitors were able to listen and interact with seminars about French taxation, where to live in France and the potential Brexit.

The increase in visitor numbers seems to prove that interest and confidence in the overseas property market is continuing to grow with Brits.

Andy Bridge, Managing Director, A Place in the Sun ltd said: “Last year was our first event in Manchester in several years and it’s pleasing that it didn’t prove to be a one-off – this year we had more visitors and exhibitors and a vibrant, busy few days. People in the north-west quite rightly love where they’re from but they’re very keen on a place in the sun too.”

A Place in the Sun Live returns to London Olympia, 6-8th May 2016. For more information about the exhibition and to book tickets, visit www.aplaceinthesun.com.
